SHADE HAIR COLOR

One’s natural hair color isn’t always 1 shade all over. Lighter and darker hues reflect and deflect light and hair colors change as we step in the sun or use certain products.

Highlights seem to be the normal thing to get every summer...go lighter with the warmer weather they say. Who are they, anyway? If you'd rather go for something solid, such as your natural hair color before the sun baked it or products touched it, check out our hairstyle gallery for some great ideas on non-highlighted looks. The pretty brown shade on the left from the stylists at Hob Salon isn't too dark and not too light but most importantly, it's not obviously riddled with numerous shades. Here are some other great colors from HOB SALON stylists.

While red is not a color everyone is comfortable becoming, it IS a color everyone notices. If you want to be one single shade of hair color AND still get lots of attention, go red.

Dark ebony black is gorgeous and has of late, become popular on fairer skinned complexions where it was once known to be too dark. Going jet black is a drastic change but you will be sure of one thing-highlight is gone!

This solid dark brown is not quite as dark as black but nearly. It hides any signs of previous color or highlights without being as drastic as black.

Not many highlights on this head because the entire look is extremely light to begin with. There will always be a few strands darker or lighter on blonder tresses but dying it one solid color will bring it back to a more even tone allover.

HAIR AS ART

The intricate design, the attention paid to detail, the elaborate patterns and colors...we Are not talking about wallpaper here people, this is all about hair! Unless your hairstyle is extremely out there, you may have never experienced the oaths and aches of onlookers with their eyes fixed on your tresses.
ANGELO SEMINARA of Trevor Sortie Hair Salon is not only accustomed to getting attention for his inventive looks, he thinks outside of the box to create hairstyles that onlookers can’t stop staring at.
Behold Angelo’s canvas-the head! Also behold one of his latest collections, GAME; one can see the art behind the images and the detail that is required to create something so beautiful. With hairstyles like these, who wants to wash their hair?

What does Angelo has to say about his work?
*I love combining art with hairdressing, and so this new tinting technique was a natural development for me to achieve the results I really wanted. I wanted to create something really revolutionary for this collection, and for the overall spirit of the pictures to be like fine art drawings - soft, beautiful and ethereal. My vision for the girls was to create gorgeous astral dolls!*

The natural world inspired this collection where snakes, mackerel, reptiles and birds are more the obvious choice for attire, but somehow Angelo makes it work for hair!

The detail in this hairstyle is amazing. Angelo captures the look of the *wild* perfectly.

Hard to believe this is actual hair and not skin from a reptile. This might not typically be the sort of hairstyle one will wear on a jaunt down the street but when evening comes if you want to be all eyes on you, go GAME!

FUNKY HAIRSTYLES BY JOHANNA CREE BROWN

Trevor Sortie’s
JOHANNA CREE BROWN is a bundle of innovation with her new ATOMIC COLLECTION. When I see styles like this I have to ask myself WHO comes up with this stuff. Johanna Cree Brown, that’s who, I enjoy these hairstyles because while they express the seriousness of Joanna’s art as a stylist, they are designs that would state not to take one TOO seriously. Life is too short! Wear your hair in a hair bow why don’t cha! While everyone is too busy getting bobs, pixies and growing hair out from a lack of hairstyle creativeness, Johanna’s coming up with fun new looks that serve to inspire fellow stylists, photographers and the everyday person who is just too darn scared to try something new.

Picture 1 on TOP LEFT: This forward graduated haircut has disconnected sections underneath the parting. The top section of the hair was cut into with thinning scissors to create a veil. The look was blow dried with Trevor Sortie Salon Exclusive Prep Hair, using a Denman brush and styled on the opposite side to the haircut to let the veiled section fall loose in front of the face. The look was finished with Trevor Sortie Salon Exclusive Shine Spray.

Picture 2– Use Salon Exclusive Prep Hair to rough dry the hair, pull out a square section at the front of the head, clip to one side. Split the remaining hair into two high ponytails and add in colored strands. Backcomb hair roughly on each one, smooth with a padded brush and fold over to create a square shape. Split the front section into three sections, back comb each one lightly. Roll first section under, second section back and third one under again, finish with Trevor Sortie Salon Exclusive fix spray, use fingers at the sides to soften surface.

PICTURE 3- Part the hair in the middle and take out the fringe section and a small section on each side of the parting. Massively back comb all the rest of the hair. Use Trevor Sortie Salon Exclusive MAX FIX hairspray and a hair dryer to shape and sculpt the backcombed hair. Drop down the parting section, adding in colored pieces. Using flat irons and Salon Exclusive fix SPRAY iron in folds all the way up to the points, gather all hair leaving out two sections at the front and secure in a ponytail. Pull the fringe section back through the middle, shape and secure.

PICTURE 4- Use Trevor Sortie Salon Exclusive prep hair to blow dry the hair, and then roughly backcomb all the hair except hairline. Roll the two side sections up and the top section back. Flatten the front of the hair with a hairdryer and Salon Exclusive FIX SPRAY, place the veiled section around the shape and secure.
